Guest guest Posted September 20, 2007 Report Share Posted September 20, 2007 Respected Sriman, Every year during the Tamil Month of Purattasi we have tradition of " Purattasi Villaku on Saturday " and " Sravana Deepam on Sravanam Day " for Srinivasa Perumal and our Kula Daivam Sri Oppiliappan. This year my Brothers Mamiyar Expired on Wednesday ie on 19th of this Month(English Date) Can you please clarify the position for the following : (1) How many day theetu will be there for my Brother and Manni.? I am told it is for 3 days. (2) Can the Purattasi Villaku and Sravana Villaku be observed on saturday ie 22nd and Sravana Vilakku on 23rd Sunday which falls on 4th and 5th day. (3) If on the 5th day Sravan Villaku is not O.K. , is it O.K to observe only Purattas Villaku for Srinivasa Perumal on any other available Saturday during the observence of Mahalaya Paksham & Navarathiri Days during the Purattasi Month. as no sravana Nakshatram falls after 23rd in the month of Purattasi and Oppiliappan Vilaku is not possible again in this month.
