Guest guest
Dear Sri Vasu Vadhyar swAmin, I hope you are well. I would like to check a couple of things about evening Sandhyaavandanam if possible. Firstly, I have heard that achamanam must always be performed facing east or north. So for sayam sandhyaavandanam, I perform achamanam always facing north. But I have also been doing " aapo hishtaa " , " ahascham aadityashca punaatu svaahaa " praashana mantra and " dadhikraaviNNo " mantrams facing north, and then face west for arghya pradaanam. Is this correct? Also what direction is Keshavaadi tarpaNam for evening sandhyavandanam? Should it be west or north? I also heard from some elders that whenever you have to perform sandhyaavandanam in the perumAL sannidhi, you always face perumAL irrespective of which direction the sun is located at that time. If this is correct, does this override any rules relating to aachamanam direction etc., i.e. can we perform everything including achamanam facing perumAL (i.e. west in most homes)? Many thanks for your guidance in advance, praNAmams, namO nArAyaNAya, Ranjan *** Kesavadhi also can be done facing north or west. You yourself given answer for rest of the things. nvs
