Appeal for restraint

Dear members,

I am writing a note to appeal that, as Sri Vasu Vadhyar swAmin

had asked in his note, that we all self-moderate during his time away

from being moderator.

A few things:

1) The discussions on the rightness or wrongness of devatAntara

vandanam would not seem to be relevant to this group. As I understand

it, this group is for discussing Vaidheeka matters for people of *all*

sampradaayams (please see the original " mission statement " from Sri

Vasu VAdhyAr swAmin). It is well known that different sampradaayams

have different answers on this issue - but if we want to convince

someone of a particular philosophy of view, there are plenty of other

for that, like " advaita " , " ramanuja " , etc. but if I am

correct, this group was not intended for that type of discussion. It

is my humble prayer that we please exercise a little restraint.

2) There have been numerous calls for VAsu vAdhyAr to resume

moderation, but we must be understanding that he may have other more

pressing duties at this time which are demanding his attention. Many

of you are family people with your own careers, as he is also, and I

am sure you will all agree that he deserves time to attend to those

other things, perhaps requiring his absence from the group for some

time. In the meantime perhaps we should try and steer towards

discussions more directly related to " Vaidheekam " ourselves. There

have been a few interesting Vaideekam related questions from some

members which have unfortunately gone unnoticed amongst the recent

discussions.

3) Lastly I am humbly appealing for this in the worry that some

people's inboxes may be getting filled up at the large volume of

email. I am aware that I too, have just contributed to this by

sending this message. However, please email me personally if you have

any comments, rather than the whole group.

I am extremely sorry if this message has caused any offence to anyone

in any way.

Ranjan
