1) In our sampradhAyam , there is no

burial .Only cremation is practised .

 

2) Is Your paternal grand mother in India

or here . If you and her are in India ,

there is nothing wrong in carrying her body

to the cremation site . If both of you are here ,

the funeral company vehicle will carry the remains .

 

3) I assume that your Father's brother is the Kartha

and he has to follow all the aparam . You only have

theettu . You can assist Your uncle as needed .

 

4) from cremation , placement of ashes and bones

in the river , establishment of stone at the site of

daily ceremonies thru the 10th , 11th and 12 th days ,

the main kartha has all the responsibilities as assisted

by the local Bruhaspathi .

 

5) On the Subha SweekAram day , You can join

the Iyal ghOshti and visit the temple for the first time .

You can take your new born child also to the temple at

that time .

 

6) If your paternal grandmother is still alive ,

and if you belong to the Vada Kalai sampradhAyam

and if your grand Mother had not recvieved

Bahra NyAsam/SaraNAgathy , you should have

Her AchAryan perform SaraNAgathy on Her behalf

for Moksha PrApthi .

 

That is all I can think of now.

Vanakkam Vasu Mama

 

Just now i got message from my uncle (father's brother) that my paternal grand

mother is serious and doctors have lost all the hopes of her survival . Hence

kindly guide me the procedures i have to adopt in these circumstances......My

father already expired. .....what are the duties of myself in the present

circumstances.

 

I have following doubts

 

1) Can I got to burial site in case of necessity . I would like to inform you

here that i have new born kid in the house. Can i lift the body also.

 

2) What is the way of life we need to run during these 13 days at our home.

 

3) what are the necessity we need to do to our house during these days.
