Dear SrI Chellappa :

Bhagavan knows who is standing in front of

Him ; inspite of it , the person's name , Naksthram ,

Raasi , Gothram is is added before the start of

Archana as a a part of Sankalpam . Archaka is

the agent who performs the Archanai on our

behalf at the Temples . Archanai as a part

of AarAdhanam at home does not have this format .

Personally , I prefer simple sankalpam :

DaasOham Bhagavan NaarAyaNa PreeTyartham

AshtOtthara Satha NaamArchanam KarishyE .

[Vaideekam] ARCHANNAS to be performed

Respected Sir,

We shall be thankful if you kindly clarify the following Point.

What is the difference in performing Archannas to GOD (PERUMAL) and

doing in the names of persons with Gothram star etc.

Under what cicumstances each alternative is to be followed. As many

persons wanted clarification i raised this point for the benefit of many

persons.

Your sincerely,

Adiyan Chellappa

The different type of doing archana :

1) Without involving the star, rasi, gothra, sharma of any person in sankalpam,

while not expecting any kind of phalan for it.

(This is recommonded for 'Prapannas')

2) With the star, rasi, gothra, sharma of some persons in sankalpam by

requesting their wishes.

In both of the forms Archani is made only to the God.

The first one is done without any expectation of phalans.

The second one is expecting some phalan (as per sankalpam) for

the list identification details included in the sankalpam.

God knows everybody, but to credit the phalan in the correct account the star,

rasi, gothra, sharma are required for the corresponding devata who are going to

that work with the order of bhagavan.

I am sorry to say this: the word " Agent " used for " Archakar " is disturbing me.

Archanai is a part of Daily Thiruvaradhanam. There is possible to do Ashtothrams

if time permits.

dasan,
