Respected Swamin

We have a doubt in this connection please.

My mother, who was with my younger sister (who is childless and also lost her

husband shortly after marriage), passed away. As per her wish and that of our

mother, kaipul was taken from her by male member and the last rites were

performed. But, since she was closely attached to the mother, the bruhaspathi

swamy permitted her to lit the pyre. Hope it is as per shastras.

Respectfully,

GJ

Liting the fire in the dead body is not a question here,

that anybody can do including the vettiyan their.

The vaideeka agni which was made by vaideeka procedures at house and taken in a

pot should be put on the body by saying some vedaha manthrams " Mainamagne

vidhahaha ..... " should be done by a male as per sastram.
