Guest guest
srI: Sri NVS swamin, dasoham. I have a doubt about Gotram. My gotram is Bharadwaja gotram and my veda sAkha is Sama vedam. I also come across yajur vedins belonging to Bharadwaja gotram. How is that? dasan. *** There are two parts in the abhivadhi one is gothram and another one is soothram. Gothram is common for all brahmins. Soothram will differ according to their saakhaa. It means that Rig, Yajur, Saamam vedham have each two soothrams Like Asvalayanam, Aapasthambam, Dhrahyayanam etc. So the first part denotes the Rushis and the second part denotes the soothram. nvs
