Guest guest
Respected Swain, We are 4 brothers performing " SARdham " (ceremonys)to our respected Parents together. All of us are in Chennai, 2 of us in same flat other 2 in different flats.Partition of assets had taken places long time ago. Still we have performing together. (only 1 Pithru niyamanam). Query : If our eldest brother performs " GAya Sartham " , others or one of them do not perform Gaya Sartham, now. What is the procedure to be followed. - Eldest brother will perform without " Homam " with 3 Swamins, as usual. Is it enough we participate as usual or we have to perform seperately. If we can / should perform seprately then 2/3 sons performing sardha in the same city , is it permitted ? Thanks, Humble pranams, Padmanabha Dasan *** In the current uploading Dharma Shastra Surukkam book in Shradha khandam, no where it is described about " Gaya Shradham " . So, it can be done / (left) with individual interest as " Kaamya karma " . whether partition of assets done or not, the shradham should be done individually from the second year (prathyapthikam) as per shastram. But, in practice, people are combinedly doing it in the place where mother (or father) residing, till any one of the parent is alive. So, it should be done separately and only with paarvana homam. A shradham without homam is not advised for a brahmanan. It is considered in the very worst case. nvs ______________________________\ ____ You rock.
