Guest guest
Respected Swamin, During the 6th month Oona Masikam and Sraththam, and also during the Varushaptheekam Sraththam, can elders eat the Sraththam meals if the Sraththam is performed for someone who is younger to us? For example, can the elder brothers, sisters, and their spouses eat the Sraththam food, if the Sraththam is for younger brother's wife? Namaskarams, AdiYen, SA Narayanan *** Taking of food in a chradham is not restricted by shastram. When asked " Anna sesha: kim kryathaam " ? at the end of shradham toward the bhokthas (swamins) the will reply, " Ishtai saha bhujyathaam " It means, can take with all near and dear. So, the taking of food is as per their own interest and anushtanam. In the shradhams three generation pithrus will be called and hence, there will no question of younger elder. nvs
