Advice in this regard would be highly appreciated. 1) At the end of the Gayatri Japam, we worship the dig Devatas - Prachyai dishai namaha etc. I have also heard these chanted with OM in front each time, ie OM Prachyaei dishai namaha, OM Dakshinayai dishei namaha...OM Yamaaya namaha...etc. I suppose that adding OM in front would add power to the chant, is it right to do so? 2) If due to time constraint, the Gayatri japam could not be done 108 times, then are there any significant lesser number of times in which it could be chanted? Supplementary question - If more time is available in the evenings, is it allowed to chant the Gayatri more times in evenings, even 200 times or more..ie until sunset?
