Guest guest
SrI: Dear SrI Padmanabhan : Thick is more practical than thin. I have seen the Yajn~Opaveetham used by VaikhAnasa Bhattars at Thirukkovilur ( Sri DehaLeesa KshEthram ) . They are sturdy . I forgot to ask them as to how they make it thick. I requested a Bhattar for a gift of their YajnOpaveetham . He was very kind to go to his home and get me one .It lasted a long time . It will be interesting to know how it was made thick . The starting point may be the thick thread is prepared from spinning of the cotton as I have seen it at Ahobila Matam AarAdhakar working with the cotton to make the thread . Just curious !
