Guest guest
Respected Swamin, Now that views have been expressed. I would like to share, with your kind approval a similar situation . We were exteremely fortunate to have a great scholar and elderly Brahaspathi in our respected Father's Thirumaligai. He also held similar views like your great self and never had any hesitation to say things bluntly and always added " WE are only enforcing authorities, we have no right to give views or actions as a matter of convenience!!! " striking similarilty. I remember the words of the Great Sage of Kanchi Sankara Mutt wherein he refused to accomadate sastras. Simple reason (HE said) HE is nobody(!?) HE had no powers or mind to do so. Much to dislike of others HE can insist on performance!! One day evening (around 6:30PM) I had been for HIS darshan. HE was giving Theertha Prasadam to every one, when my turn came, HE simply looked at me and said, " Please perform your Sadhaya Vandhanam " and come for Theertham. I will wait " . He added " Your worry is if I will miss giving you which is MY worry too " . It is better to miss Theertham than Sandhaya Vandhanam. He waited till I completed and then gave me the Theertham. Back to the subject, our respected father was on death bed and his father's(my grandfather's ceremony) was there on a particular day. We rushed to our Swamin and asked if one of us can take kai-pill and do the sartham. He simply said . (1) he can not deleagate if he can do it. (2)If he has to / can delegate only if he is fully aware of what he is doing and nobody can assume responsibility on his ownself. The clarity, coverage of all situation in our sastras is amazing. We have to simply bow down. Needless to say we need Pandit swamins like to guide us, without hesitation. Namo Narayanaya.
