Guest guest
Dear Swamin, Adiyen namskaram. 1. It is very difficult to get girls to marry divorcees. If an offer comes from a girl of same gothram, is it permissible to go ahead? Is there a prohibition for two people of same gothram to marry? 2. Girls older than the boy offer to marry. Is it ok to go ahead? I would not have asked such questions may be 30 years ago but nos...... & nbsp; Thanks. Lakshminrisimhan *** There is no provision in sastram for these type of marriages. If one feels it is necessary, then he / she can do the register marriage to have a legal companion. nvs
Guest guest
Swamin, Even then (Register marriage or Sasthroktha marriage) how a brother and sister can " go along " ? Is it not a shameful, society-forbidden immorality? Will any parent allow their own daughter and son marry each other just because of the same reason that swami says? dasan, T.Raguveeradayal *** Adiyen, I request, Swami should read my answer again, The points / stress to note are : 1. ... no provision ... 2. ... if one feel it is necessary ... (this necessary goes beyond anything for somebody) My worries are : if they fix themselves everything like date, mandapam, printing invitation etc. and comes to a vadhyar, No vadhyar will ask (including myself) their gothram and all, it will come out at the time of " Vara Prekshanam - pravaram " , nobody can stop the marriage at that time .... ??? !!! dasan, nvs On Wed, Jun 18, 2008 at 5:58 AM, Ahobila Nrisimhan <nrifeb2007 wrote: > Dear Swamin, > Adiyen namskaram. > 1. Guest guest
Respected Swamin,Sweekara puthran is able to marry a girl from the gothra of his birth as per practice. All parents and elders allow this as they accept the gothra of the boy has been changed through Sweekaram. Does this not mean that brother and sister  marry? AdiyenRaman--- *** Wrong information. No where such practice is found. Sastram is strictly speaking that a boy who shifted to new gothram through sweekaram does not marry a girl from his parent (old) gothram or a girl from the new gothram.
