unavoidable circumstances preventing preformance of pratiAptikam

Dear Vasu Vadhyam Swamin, Namaskarams! Adiyens elder brother is unable

to perform pitha's pratiAptikam due to an unavoidable situation.

Splitting the performance of Aaptikam has not been done and it is the

elder brother who has been the kartha so far. What alternatives exist?

Can the Aptikam be done on the next occurence of the thithi or can the

matha do something in place of the kartha? matha is not in good enough

health to actually perform any elaborate rituals but can be present

and do some minimal activity? Swamin's suggestions will be a great

help to us.

No unavoidable circumstance is listed in sastram except theetu.

 

Just start doing the shradham in different / other kartha's (your) place is the

splitting, nothing else to do.

 

The Apthikam or Prathi Apthikam can not be or must not be shifted to next thithi

on any circumstance. If a theetu comes, the shradham should be done on the next

day to the day on which the theetu ends.
