Doubt in observing Mahalaya paksham in the first year

Sri NVS swamin,

dasoham.

 

Adiyen's brother-in-law (my sister's husband) passed away in Aug 2008. His son

is doing monthly masikams. How can he observe mahalaya paksham since he is doing

monthly karyam for his late father? Mahalaya paksham begins from Sep 15, 2008.

He cannot do mahalaya paksham before his father's tithi. Can swamin suggest the

procedure in observing mahalaya paksham in the prathama year?

 

Swamin's response could help other bhagavathas in this list.

In the prathama year, masa sankramanam & Amavasyai tarpanam not needed as per

Srivaishnava sadacharya published in 1991. Is this because of  masikam sraddham?
