Sriman Vasu Vadhyar Mama,

I am trying to find shastric or other scriptural explanations on the

significance and importance of Brahmanas keeping Shikha.

 

Can you please provide explanations on this and examples of scriptures stating

the importance (more the better).  I would like to understand all aspects

better.

I have to collect all other PramANams about Shikha,

but for now I remember a veda vAkhyam:

" yatra bANA: (baaNaa:) sampatanti kumarA: vishikha iva "

There / where baaNaas (arrows) have been fallen without any use;

like the Arghya deertam of boys without tuft wastefully fallen on the ground.

I am a nivice but think I could give my observation.

 

 

It is not a problem for a well qualified Vaidhika bachelor to get a suitable

girl. But the point is " Qualified " .

 

I won't believe all teh Brahmin girls are " Models " .  In fact the quantity is of

the nature to take them as " exceptions " .

 

But, it is always good to be multi talented.  Be an expert Vaidhika< at the

same time expert in computer or other technical or languages.

 

One of my friend, Dr. Vasudevan, is doingPooja's at Andal temple at

Sriviliputhur as well as at the nearby " Thirumala temple " .  At the same time,

he is a doctorate in Mathematics fromMadurai Kamaraj University.

 

I have lots of my friends like this.

But this group is only to discuss about the ritual things done by the priest and

not about the personal life of the priest.

 

If somebody have much interest on the welfare of the priests,

I suggest a name for that group : " priestwelfare " and my best wishes.
