Guest guest
Dear Vasu Vadyar Swamin. Dasan Srinivasan Pranams I have a few clarifications relating to navarathri and Prapannan 1. When a prapannan visits a relative who has arranged KOLU and offers sundal or prasadam offered to Kolu. Can it be accepted? 2. Can there be a kolu arrangement in a prapannan's house when there is no body else other the the prapannas live? 3. Can prasadam of Anjaneya temple be accepted considering it as a Baghavatha Prasatham? Dasan Srinivasan *** " Sonnaal virodamidu aahilum solluvan " - AzhvAr First of all a 'prapannan' should know the real meaning of the term prapannan. After understanding about the 'taatparyam' of prapannan, he will not have doubt about things what he can do and don't and he will not ask questions like these. " yaararivaar ... naanarindavaaru " - AzhvAr I don't know how many real prapannas are there in the world?! Direct(?) answers for the questions made: 1. If he (prapannan) thinks the KOLU idols are all represents and resembles Sriman NaaraayNa then he can accept it. 2. Unable to understand the question. But I understood like this: " Kolu habit in a prapnnans house is right or wrong " ? There are many things in the world like these: Wearing shirts, pants, Churidars, cropping hairs etc. are 'anya' Kalachaaram (other's culture) which is not described for a prapannan. If it is OK and accepted, then Kolu also can be accepted because mostly all the idols in the kolu are the representation of " Sriman NaaraayaNa " . 3. It is not advisable for anybody to take the 'Prasaadam' given by others (including our family members). One should personally go to the preferred deities temple and get the prasadam directly from the Archagar. Then only he will get the actual phalan of the prasadam. Note: Few 'Prapannas' (like me) will not take prasadam from any temple or house except prasadams offered to the 'Saalagramams' in their house and prasadams from selected (according to aagama) Vishnu temples. for NVS
