While doing Amavasya Tarapanam, should we also do Mata Vargam if Mother &

Patti(Mother's Mother) is alive?

Can leave the mother side pithrus tharpanam only while the mother's father is

alive.

While mother's mother is alive and mother's father is not alive then the

tarpanam should be done by leaving the name of mother's mother in the Vasu

roopam. The Vasu Roopam starts from mother's father's mother.
