Guest guest
Sri: Sri NVS swamin, Recently adiyen came across a discussion about fixing a day for birthday celebration in a gathering. adiyen thought that at Sun rise time the nakshatram should be present for at least for 1.5 hours ( 8 nazhigai). Some one said the nakshatram should be present at the time of Muhurtham. Another person said nakshatram should be present for many hours of the day. We all agreed to celebrate the same tamil month for every year. 1. How does one find out which day to celebrate birthday ( for doing ayush homam )? 2. If one is born on first padam, 2nd padam of nakshatram, when to celebrate the birthday? dasan. *** Replied already message number: 3651; > *** > As per anushtanam > in which day a star is present atleast 12 Nazhigai or about 5 hours from the sunrise is to be taken as the star of the day for the purpose of Ayushya homam etc. > nvs > Previous message number: 3572; Re: When to a nakshtram? Dear Vasu Vadhyar, Namskarams! In reading swamin's reply about when to observe a nakshthram, adiyen has a confusion. In this case, the nakshthram is not present at sunrise on the first day (it comes at 8:41 AM, sunrise at 05:03 AM) and on the next day it is present at sunrise but only until 09:18 which is only about 4 hrs from sun rise. It is not required that the nakshthram be presnt at surise for it to be observed that day? Adiyen, Sridharan *** A star will remain minimum 22 hours of time. In which day it remains maximum time in the morning to be observed. nvs
Guest guest
Sri: Sri NVS swamin, dasoham. Pardon, adiyen. What is the reference of morning hour measured? Is it after midnight hours or from sun rise? From what time up to what time is considered morning? Can you swamin express in nazhigai from sun rise, like a tithi for a punya kalam measured? (example: minimum 20 nazhigai) dasan. *** With reference to Indian Time: (Add or subtract, if the Sunrise differs much from 6.00 am) 2.30 Nazhigai = 7.00 am 5.0 Nazhigai = 8.00 am 7.30189; Nazhigai = 9.00 am 10.0 Nazhigai = 10.0 am 12.30 Nazhigai = 11.0 am 15.0 Nazhigai = 12.0 noon 12.00 Noon is the bench mark for all vaideeka Poorva Karyams which are restricted to perform only in the morning. The Muhurtha time should end at 12.00 noon Uttaraanga karmas and asirvadhams can be continued after that. All nazhigais are referred only from sun rise only (Almost 99% of Panchaangams keep this). If a muhurtha time which is selected before sunrise should also be referred only from the sun rise. For example: If the sun rise is : 6.00 am and the muhurtham fixed is between 5 am and 6.30 am then it should be mentioned as : " Udhayaat poorvam 2.30 (irandarai) naazhigaikku mel udhayadhi 1.15 (onedrekaal) nazhigaikkul " . The star should be identified by its longevity during the sun rise to mid day with respect to poorva karmas. Punya Kaalam is different from the above: You need not worry about the punya kaalam because which is common for all, and which is clearly mentioned in the panchangams by which you can adopt one. nvs
Guest guest
vaideekam , " chengadu " <chengadu wrote: > > > Sri: > Sri NVS swamin, > > Pardon, pardon me > > Can someone tell me about sankha or Sangu Abishegam? > please. Any refred page on the net where I can getmuch > info. > > Thanks Dear Sir, Shankhu or Shankhaahishekam in Kerala and in Smartha traditions refer to pouring out of water (or other materials like oil, ghee, honey, milk etc) from Shanku. Both the types of Shankhu are used. Abhishekam done with Valampiri (sinistral conch) is consider better. Prasna Marga, a book which is used in Kerala for prasnam prescribes Shankhaabhishekam as Pariharam for doshas of moon.
