Kindly advise us on 70th birthday celebrations of a Iyengar person.Is it necessary to do homams or any other rituals in Vaishnava community for 70th Birthday? I heard Srimad Andavan Swamigal advising to do Shanthi on 70th Birthday. Kindly advise us. With profound regards Kalyani *** As per my little knowledge there is no special prayogam found for 70th birthday for a srivaishnavite. But I know, that on any birthday one can perform the Ayushyahomam if he wish to do so. I don't know that Srimad Andvan has declared as: that " all Srivaishnavite should perform the 70th birthday " . If Andavan personally advised one to perform, then others should not think it as common.
