How there can be someone without father?

In my opinion the meaning should be like this " those who do not have the

fortune of being called father " .

If I am wrong please correct me

The same doubt I also had for some time; but it does not mean it;

When a person die before his father and without a son, his father has to do the

shraaddham etc.

Here 'father is also not alive to perform those things ' is the real meaning.

Still I could not understand one version of this, which is in use by some

people:

" Yeshan na maataa, na pitaa ... "

It seems " Ulagam pala vidham naam athile oru vidham ... "
