Guest guest
Dear Nvs swaminah, Shastras direct that a brahmachari perform Samidha every day. Both my children have done their upanayam. the problem that we face is that I live in one room house in Delhi. With wife working, it becomes difficult to leave agni in the form of embers is difficult. Therefore, is it possible to take the fire in lamp which is always light and not allowed to go out. Can that fire be used to do the samidhadaanam every day? dasoham vitahavya *** Samidhadhana agni is not necessary to keep embers as " vichinna " like aupaasana agni. It can be created whenever necessary. My elder son did Samidhadhanam from the age of 7 to the day of his marriage. I never heard it. nvs
Guest guest
sri: Sri NVS swamin, At the time of brahmopadesam/upanayanam for my son, our Sama Veda Bhruhaspati told us that samitadhanam can be done without fire (where having fire is prohibited by local municipal code) by saying in the sankalpam that patanam adya karishye. dasan. *** Where there is a problem to take bath, you can use the mantra snanam. Like that there are options for every thing, but they are secondary only. nvs
Guest guest
swamin, All yajna karmas can be done in the form tarpanam into with water also. in case of samidha, you can also do it with darbha into the water. however, as has been already pointed out, these are alternatives and not the main mode and can be resorted to when all others have been exhausted. adiyen vitahavya vaideekam , venkat chari <venkigopu wrote: > > sri: > Sri NVS swamin, > > At the time of brahmopadesam/upanayanam for my son, our Sama Veda Bhruhaspati told us that samitadhanam can be done without fire (where having fire is prohibited by local municipal code) by saying in the sankalpam that patanam adya karishye. > > dasan. > > *** > Where there is a problem to take bath, you can use the mantra snanam. > Like that there are options for every thing, but they are secondary only. > nvs >
