The information is very useful.

 

I have one doubt.

 

In Pradhd Sandhya, Sandyayai Namaha is chanted facing east

In Madhyannam, since facing North should we start with Saraswathyai Namaha or Sandhyayai Namaha:

 

Similarly in Sayam Sandhaya, since facing West, should we start with Gayatriyai Namaha or Sandyayai Namaha

 

May be sillly at your standards but please clarify, since we have no formal learning.

Can anybody clarify my doubt.

This is Sudarshan Kumar here. I appreciate the fantastic work done in by the saranagathi group and this will really help the masses.

 

I have a doubt and request you to kindly clarify. While doing the Saayam Sandhya, my father has taught me to do the entire saayam sandhya facing in west direction (change directions only during sandhyaadi devataa vandanam / dik vandanam). However I have seen my neighbor (who is a aandavan ashramam shishya) doing the saayam sandhya starting in the east direction that is aachamanam, pranayama, manthra prokshanam, etc. Then turns west and performs Arghayam, Tharpanam, Gayathri Japam, Upasthanam, dik vandanam etc facing in west direction. Again turns towards east and do the concluding aachamanam and turns west direction to do saatvika thyagam and conclude sandhya vandanam. He also says that Aachamanam should always be done facing east direction only.

 

I have referred many books and internet site to get this necessary information, but could not. All books tell the saayam sandhya to be done (entire anushtanam) facing west direction.

 

My neighbor even advised me that what ever I am doing is wrong and I should have to change the directions per his advice. Pl guide me what is right. Your response will be highly appreciated.
