Guest guest
15-05-2009Swamin,NamaskaramI would like to know about "PARUPPU THENGAI" (GENERALLY 2 Nos.) which is kept at all important functions like Upanayanam, marriage, ayushhomam etc. (mainly adopted by Brahmins (and some Nonbrahmins also which is rare)Paruppu thengai of many varieties are used and kept in the function place with poo alangaram. But there is no poojai etc for that and it looks like a decorative item but I think it is not so There is some significance for that. Kindly let me know.In some places they use 1 paruppu thengai only. There is different varieties of sharing this also after function is over. There were quarrels in this regard also some times. But I do not know whether the purpose of keeping is known to anybody!I could not get proper (correct) answer from many.Kindly let me know.Thanking you and with namaskaramRajasekaran Hyderabad Explore and discover exciting holidays and getaways with India Travel Click here!
