Please explain the significance of paruppu Theengai in our functions.

Nothing special!

But, it is made up of sweet and a symbol of shubham.

Sandal and Sugar will be distributed at the end of subhams for all others. Like

that a block of sweet in pair is given as one of the 'seer' items in shubhams

and in single in ashubhams. It is made as a cone because, if we try to make it

in any other form it will be easily get broken, which will be sentimentally

wrong.

 

It may be made out of Kadalai, pottukadalai, kadalai paruppu, bhoondhi,

manoharam etc.
