Guest guest
Sri: Namo narayana Pranams Swamin: adiyongal purchased an apartment in a different city, but we are unable to go there personally now. Our parents who live there were going to call a brihaspathi to have a simple puja/perumal aradhanam/punyavachana, so that the apartment could be used if necessary by family . When we go to later, we were thinking of having veda/prabhanda parayanam and invite bhagavatas. However we got an opinion that unless we perform homa , which would recquire our presence, the apartment could not be used. We wanted to know if this is true about performance of homa/grihapravesham procedure prior to use. What are the necessary procedures before using a new home? Please excuse adiyenfor errors in the mail. dasan B.srivatsa *** Grihapravesam is consisting of two ritual things: 1. Pravesam 2. Vaastu Homam Pravesam requires the particular persons presence and the Vaastu Homam does not requires pp. If the parents of the house owner are alive and they are present at the new house at the time of pravesam then they are the right persons to do both pravesam and vaastu homam. If the parents also not there at the time of pravesam then it is better to do the Vaastu homam with some close relatives and the particular person can do the pravesam and perumal Aradhanam in some other suitable auspicious day. If he / they think a homam is must when they performing the pravesam, then they can do any other homam like Sudharshana, Navagraha, Ganapathy, Sri Sukta, Dhanvanthari etc. according to their wish and family tardition. nvs
