Guest guest
Respected Sir, During Shastiaptha Poorthi, one more thirumangalyam is added and thus the thirumangalyam becomes three. Is acceptable to our sampradhayam. My wife has suddenly raised this querry as someone said three should not be worn. Regards, MKSridharan Mr.Sridharan, There is no sastram for these things, traditionally wearing Thirumangalyam on Shastiyapta poorthi. Why should not use three? Our Acharyas are having the " Thri dhandam " in which there are three, Our sampradhayam itself is called " Tatva thrayam " , The first tying thirumangalyam is made out of five strings which is in odd number, in one Thirumangalyam two balls (Kundu) and one dollar (mangalyam) which counts three, some grahastas are wearing three poonals, in some house haarathi is taken by three sumangalies, we are doing pranayamam thrice, at marriages shouting the pravaram three times, pitrus are three categories vasu-rudra-aditya, we are using three lines two white and one colour as thiruman srichurnam, when sitting for upanayanam, Jadhakati, vradham there father-mother-son or father-mother-daughter three people only have to sit we can say many more examples for threes. Why not use three? If you still not convinced do any of the following; let the in laws purchase one thirumangalyam, you purchase one set of thirumangalyam use both in this 60 poorthi also, later you can remove the old one like we are changing the old poonal after wearing the new poonal, or let her keep all the four. regs, nvs
