Dear Sri Govindasamy:

At one time both Brahma Devan and His son , SivapirAn had 5 heads ( Pancha Mukham) . At one time , Parvati mistook her Father in Law to be her husband and offered

her salutations . SivapirAn was incensed and in a rage of anger , He plucked one of the 5 heads of His Father to make Him chathurmukha Brahman .Brahma was a Brahmin and

the mighty sin ariisng from plucking the head resulted in the skull ( 5th face) being stuck in

Rudran's hands and wandering around seeking alms everywhere . Due to grace of

Hara Saapa VimOchana Murthy at KaNDiyUr ( Near Tanjore) , the skull detatched itself

after recieving Bikshai from Lord VishNu in to the skull . The curse got removed .

This is the PurANic story behind.

Doubt

Swamin's Adiyen have a doubt.Pls clarify adiyen's ignorance. In Amalanthipaaran Paasuram6 Alwar says "Thunda Ven Pirayan Thuyar Thirtavan"referring to one of Siva's story of the kaabalam from Matsya Puranam. So in that story it states that brahma have 5 faces and siva with 5 as well.In other Paasuram Thirulmalisai Alwar says "Nayarayanan Nange Muganai Padaithan,Nan Muganum Tan muganai Sankaranai Padaithan. In many places it is stated Brahma as nange mugan or caturmugan and he's created with 4 faces.Pls guide me what is the teaching/secret of this. What is the real thing behind this 5 faces of brahma.

Thanks!

sri NVS swamin:

dasoham.

adiyen's sahadharmini's periappa passed away on vruchika sukla prathamai in

Nanganallur, Chennai. The family bruhaspati says that on ekadasi day the apara

rituals will not be performed. He will resume from the next day,(dwadasi day).

When adiyen's parents passed away, the apara rituals were continued on ekadasi

day, this was in 80s and 90 s. Can swamin suggest any thing prescribed in our

scriptures? If ekadasi day is not prescribed for any apara rituals, then how is

that a missed aptikam be performed on ekadasi day?

vachika doshaha kshantavyaha

dasan.

This kind of explanation and or interpretations are the reasons to develop many

controversial opinions in rituals.

The Vadhyar might have told as the " Sapindikaranam " karma should not be

performed on Ekadasi Vradha day. Because Sapindikarana karma is having plenty of

time upto the day of Varusha Aptikam and hence it is called 'Avakasa

Shraaddham'. Few other Avakasa Shraaddhams are there like Oonams which are not

based on the thithi. So, it is restricted to do any Avakasa Shraadham in Ekadasi

days and in Fridays.

Apara Karma from day one to day eleven can not be stopped or postponed for any

reason.
