Dear Vasu Vadhyar Swamin

dasan srinivasan Pranams

Utharayana punyakalam falla in the afternoon around 3.00pm on 14th January 2010.

Should the tharpanam be done after that time since it is understood that the

tharpanam is to be done only in Utharayanam for both dakshinayana punyakalam and

utharayana Punyakalam.

Similarly on solar eclipse day on 15th, can the prasadams be prepared early

morning and thiruvaradhanam done early and food can be taken after grahanam.?

best regards

Dasan Srinivasan.

Sri:

Yes actually it should be done after 3 pm as per sastram

On 15th Thaligai should be done after Grahanam, Aradhanam can be done with milk

or Klakandu dhraakshai etc.

Dear Learned onces.

sorry to ask a foolish question.

what is the difference between Uttarayana tharpanam and amavasya tharpanam. i

thought both are same and only one tharpanan needs to be on the amavasya.

sorry again . i have just started doing tharpanan since 4 months.

thanks for the reply.

regards.

Sri:

Amavasai happens every month but Grahanam happens once or twice in a year ,

both are punyakaalams but the value or preference is Very High for Grahana

Punyakaalam than any other.

But actually the name of the punyakaalam is the difference while doing, all

other things remains same.
