Guest guest
Dear Swamin Thank you for your response to my query on VasishTa's role in Sri Rama Yuvaraja Pattabhishekam " Some people (especially in North India) perform marriages in the evenings / nights. Some perform marriages on Saturdays. Are these OK as per Saastras? Dasoham Anbil Ramaswamy *** Well, There is a difference in the basis of Panjangams as Chandramaana and Sowramaana etc. Some where it is mentioned in " Khanda Pushanam " I hope. As per Panjaanga vidhi Tuesdays and Satrudays are rejected for subhams described as 'Kuruttu Naal' (blind days), Sunday and Monday are taken as Single eye day and remining Wed, Thur, Fridays are considered as Two eyes days. More over, we could confirm that vaidhika karmas should be done in the fore noon for the following reasons: 1. Most of the karmas are required Madi and Acharam 2. Most of the karmas are required to be done with empty stomach. And for many more reasons our ancestors have been well defined it to complete the vaidhika karmas in the fore noon. nvs
