Guest guest
Dear Vasu Vathiyar, Namaskarms to you from me and my family. This is regarding a question with respect to anushtanams or rather practises to be followed by a husband when his wife is pregnant. I heard that there is vriddhi during the final term and it includes activities like avoiding shaving, hair cutting etc. Can you please enlighten me on these procedures. Jai Radheshyam *** I could not understand in which meaning you have used the word 'vriddhi', if you mean 'Theetu', then it is not like that. There is no theetu. Theetu will applicable only for the ten days from the date of delivery. But avoiding shaving is for a good scientific reason, but it should be kept atleast from the third or fourth month. If and when using the knife or blade to shave, there is a chance to get wound which may cause to infection to the father, then mother then the baby also. When the father is bearing the beards he may always remember that he should take care for the mother and baby in all respects like diet and activities which may affect them. Just for fun : Rishis might have thought like these .... " Thaai (mother) Uyirai sumakkirall Thanthai (father) ...yiraiyaavadhu sumakkattume " endru. nvs
