Guest guest
Dear Swamin, Namaskarams. I request you to kindly clarify: 1. Whether celebrating Sashtiyaptha Poorthi as Arubatham Kalyanam is a must ? What is the significance behind it ? 2. Recently I have seen a small size (Palm size) Srimad Bhagavad Gita in tamil published by M/s. Giri Trading Agency, Chennai. The cost of which is Rs.10/- per copy. On the day of my comletion of sixtieth birth day and on start of sixtyfirst I would like to give some Spiritual books to friends and relatives. Whether I can give the above book ? Or would you pl. suggest similar book published by Sri Vaishnava publications ? 3. I will be completing my sixtieth year in Vikruthi Vasrusham, AADI, Magam . My date of birth is 14.08 1950 . Please indicate the exact english date as it will enable me to go for darshan of GOD(S) on that day. Sorry for disturbance. with pranams Adiyen V. Soundararajan. *** 1. Celebrating shastiyabdapoorti is not coming under samskara karma; (nithya/namithtika karma) which means not a mandatory karma or if left, there is no prayachittham required to be done. It can be done as extra karmas like Sudharsana Homam extra for our Sarva Abhishta siddhi:, and Sarva Arishta shanti: . 2. Srimad Bhagavat Gita is hard one to recite by all, you can present stothra padams of Sri Vedanta Desikan which will bring them prosperity if recited by them. 3. It will be on 11th August 2010 as per rough calculation, please confirm with your vadhyar after the preparation of next " Vikrtui " year panjangam or send me a personal mail about it. nvs
