Guest guest Posted December 23, 2008 Report Share Posted December 23, 2008 Respected and dear sirs, Namaskaram , I am performing aaradhanam daily in this Margazhi, and I follow Lifco's Book. When I refer to net sites, I see changes to the way of performing aaradhanam which is not mentioned in the book. 1. I do not understand the need of pradikra paathiram which is kept in the centre of the total 5 vessels. I use a thirukaveri ( Sombu) for filling the water wherein i add all ingredients for pooja( like green camphor, ellakaai podi, rose water, thulasi, flower). And recite aastaksharam 7 times and fill the 5 vessels. But, till today i do not use the center vessel ( prathikra patthiram for anything). Pl. help me to know what for it is used. Some explanation say it is the vessel used to fill other vessels. But the size will be different and can i keep a tall vssel in the center. 2. There is no mention of Virajja river slokam in the book ( Or else i do not understand where it is ). Do i need to do sankalpam daily before carrying out the aaraadhanam. 3. What is the slokam i have to recite when we burn Camphor ( Deepam ). There is a mention of " Charanam Pavithram " . But, i do not find a detailed full slogam.
