AanuSravika yEva nou KSyapa iti

ubhou vEdhayitE ,

 

nahi SE kumiva MahAmErum gantum ,

apaSya mahamEtat sooryamaNDalam

parivartamAnam,

Gaargya: prANatrAta:,

gacchanta MahAmErum ,

yEkam chAjahatam ,

BhrAja-PaDara-PatangA nihanE

tishtannAtapanti,

tasmAdhiha taptritapA.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

22nd Mantram: Word by word Meaning:

AanuSrAvika yEva nou KaSyapa: iti ubhou vEdhayitE = The two rishis (ubhou) , PanchakarNar and SaptakarNar , announce( vEdayitE) that KaSyapar remains as the eighth Sooryan ; the two rishis state that they know about Kasyapar's status as the 8th Sooryan through their ears only ( AanuSravika yEva).

 

MahAmErum gantum na hi SEkum iva = We seem to be powerless ( na hi SEkum iva) to reach MahAmEru mountain( MahAmErum ganthum) and visualize KaSyapar there . That is why we say that we have only heard about (AanuSrAvika yEva) His being there.

 

Gaargya: PraNatrAta:apaSyam aham yEtat SooryamaNDalam

parivartamAnam= Sage Gargaa's son ,

PrANatrAtar said that he has seen this SooryamaNDalam known as KaSyapar

with his own eyes.

 

gacchanta MahAmErum= ( He said) You all please go to see MahAmEru .

 

yEkam chAjahatam= Please see that KaSyapa Sooryan , who does not leave MahmEru( ajahatam yEkam MahAmErum PaSyatAm iti).

 

bhrAja-PaDara-PatangA nihanE ,tishtan

Aatapanti =The Sooryans with the names of BhrAjan ,PaDaran and Patangan shining with thier own distinct lustres and stay below the Mountain Meru as they warm the world from their locations ( nihanE tishtan Aatapanty).

 

tasmAt iha taptritapA: =Therefore ( tasmAt) , the seven Sooryans starting from BhrAjan shine below Meru Mountain (iha) with their spreading rays ( taptritapA:).
