RAMA NAVAMI

FESTIVAL

You are cordially invited with family and friends

to attend the ten-day Rama Navami Festival beginning April 3, 2009 celebrated at Paruthiyur Kodandaramar Temple, at Avanam

Paruthiyur a small beautiful village on the banks of the gushing Kudamurutti

River. Each day there will be

special Abhishekas - Archanas – Aradhanas & Alankaras as a part of Rama

Navami Celebrations. Paruthiyur Ramar is considered as a masterpiece bronze

art. Many archaeologists from all over

the world, who study south Asian bronze, visit this temple to examine the

unique striking bronze images. If Molavar is beautiful, utsavars are even more

beautiful. The Ajanu bhahu Aravinda Nayana Paruthiyur Rama, Lakshmana, Sita

Devi and Anjaneya are a treat to the Bhaktas.

The temple hosts a very rare Prayoga Chakra Varadharaja Perumal and a

Kalyana Varadharaja Perumal as the main temple deities.

As a part of the ten-day

festival that begins on Friday morning, April 3ed, Grand decorations are made

at the temple and the Murtis are decorated in a magnificent way and devotees

get their turn to get the dharshan and perform archanais. Special Purusha Suktha Abhishekams,

Alankarams, Sri Rama Sahasranama Archana, Deeparadhana and Mahamangala Aarti are done in the mornings 6 Am - 9 AM. Short reading of verses from Srimad Valmiki Ramayana

on Rama Jananam, the birth of Lord Rama, Reciting slokas and Nam Ramayana, at

the shrine is encouraged. You are welcome to come and perform music, dances,

bhajans & discourses at the cultural programs each evening between 6 PM - 8

PM. It is believed that reciting or performing before

Paruthiyur Rama would help achieve great heights & bring success in all

endeavors to the devotees. After which there is evening arthi. The last tenth day usually ends with Seetha

kalyana Vaibhavam. This Sthala

is a symbol for family unity. It is believed that performing Pujas to

Paruthiyur Ramar would eliminate Graha dhoshas, lost family members will

reunite, and family feuds will vanish and bring unity and ensure happiness and

joy in the family. All

are welcome.
