Guest guest
SrI: Dear Swamy Desika BhakthAs : On the third day of the MaNDala ( 45 day ) Kaimakryam , adiyEn is happy to recall Swamy Desikan's upadEsam housed in the ChillaRai Rahasyam of Rahasya RatnAvaLi Hrudhayam . Rahasya RatnavaLi is a necklace as it were made up of 30 gems of UpadEsams from Swamy Desikan .The Rahasya RatnAvaLi has been released earlier as an ebook (18th ebook) in Sri Hayagrivan series : http://www.srihayagrivan.org Rahasya RatnAvaLi Hrudhayam (RRH)elaborates on the meanings of these 30 individual upadEsams in great detail . A seperate ebook on RRH is being planned for the near future . SlOkam 1 : Goal of the SrI Sookti ,RRH tattvOpAyapumarthEshu adhyAtmavidhAm vibhAvaneeyEshu svayamEva soochayAmO rahasyaratnAvaLee hrudhayam At the very outset,Swamy Desikan states His purpose in assembling the detailed commentary on every one of the 30 Vaakyams of Rahasya RatnAvaLi . Swamy Desikan points out the importance of gaining clarity on Tattvams, upAyam and Phalan ( Pumartham) by the Mumukshu ( One desiring Moksha Phalan). Swamy points out that He Himself has undertaken the task of assembling this commentary on Rahasya RatnAvaLi for the benefit of those , who are already knowledgable about VedAntha Saastrams(adhyAtmavidh) . It is for their use and anushtAnam He says that He has created this commentary ( svayamEva SoochayAma:) instead of leaving it to others to help in this vital area . That was the concern of this Mahaa Desikan and we are the beneficiaries. At the end of RRH , Swamy Desikan states that this Sri Sookti arose out of the anugraham of His AchAryAs and it is an AabharaNam for the Siras of VedAnthAs . VedAnthAs( Upanishads) are considered the Siras of the Vedams. Swamy states that RRH is the Siras of even the Upanishads . Second SlOkam of RRH at the end of the Sri Sookthi : samkshiptam vistrutam vaa saraLa-samuchitam sAvadhAnapriyam vaa prAdhAnyEna praNeetam pariphaNiti- parishkAravrutyaa sthitam vaa SikshA-soukarya-tushDi-prachita- gurujanAnugrahEddham sudheebhi: SraddhEyam nAthajushDa-Sruti-yuvati- SirObhUshaNam bhAshaNam na: (Meaning): We have created many and different types of granthams : some are brief( samkshiptam); some are elaborate ( Vistrutam); some are for those , who have average familiarity with VedAntic subject matter ( saraLa samuchitam); some are for the enjoyment of those , who are scholars with intense awareness (saavadhAna-priyam) of VedAntic tattvams. Some are independent PrakaraNa granthams ( prAdhAnyEna praNitam) and others are commentaries for PoorvAchArya Sri Sookthis like gadhya Trayam and GeethA BhAshyam ( ParaphaNiti-parishkAra-vrutyA- sthitam). Thus we have created many kinds of SrI Sooktis. Our total utternaces ( upadEsams) housed in these granthams are set in clear style pleases our AchAryAs (SikshA-soukarya-tushDi prachita) and they arose out of the anugrahams of our AchAryAs (GurujanAnugrahaNena- udhitam). The commentary on these 30 utterances ( pEcchukkal/bhAshaNam) are to be trusted as true/authentic (SraddhEyam) by the scholars and are AabharaNams for the head of VedAnthams that reveal the Lord ( Naatha-jushDa-Sruti-yuvati- SirObhUshaNam). anthima seyyuLL of RRH sAkkiyar sainarhaL SaarvAkar Saankiyar Saivar maRRum taakiyar noolhaL sitaya tani maRayin karutthai Vaakiya muppatinAl vahai seyuthu viyAkaritthOm tEkki manattutuLitanai tiNi iruL neenguminE (Meaning): We have created this SrI sookthi to destroy the false doctrines of the philosophies of BhouddhAs, Jainars, Saarvakars, SaankyAs and Paasupatha SaivAs as well as logicians . We have done the refutation of the Para Matams ( Para Mata KhaNDanams) and have established the greatness of the matchless VedAs through the 30 vaakyams of RRV.May You keep these rahasyArtha vivaraNams in Your minds and banish the dark & powerful nescience (ajn~Anam) forever ! Swamy Desikan ThiruvadigaLE SaraNam, Oppiliappan Koil Sadagopa DhAsan P.S: Tomorrow , adiyEn will select two or three slOkams from the Hamsa SandhEsam of Swamy Desikan .
