Today , we will study two slOkams from Sri Ranganatha PaadhukA Sahasra SlOkams

relating to Swamy NammAzhwAr

and Lord RanganAthan.

 

Yesterday was Panguni Uttiram day and adiyEn's thoughts still linger around Sesha Peetam , Ranga VimAnam , Sri Rangan and His PaadhukAs .

 

There are 1008 slOkams in the Mahaa Kaavyam of Sri Ranganatha PaadhukA Sahasram

SlOkam 581( PadmarAgha Paddhati)

 

PrapadhyE RanganAthasya PaadhukAm PadhmarAgiNeem

 

PadhaikaniyatAm Tasya PadhmavAsAmivAparAm

 

(Meaing) adiyEn seeks the refuge of the Paadhukai of Sri RanganAtha ,which is another MahA Lakshmi , being PadmarAgiNi

( having PadmarAgha/ruby gems) like Lakshmi ( loving to live in the Lotus) and who is forever bound to the Lord's feet only ( like Lakshmi ever being the One participating in all the roles , such as the control of the worlds , being SEshi etc., permanently sharing in all Her Lord's duties ).

This is the first slOkam of PadmarAgha Paddhati and is recited to gain Bhagavath

KaDAksham and all Iswaryams . Japam of this slOkam is done invoking the Lord's and

Mahaa Lakshmi's KaDAksham with the prescribed sankalpam .

Madhura maNipAdhukE pravruttham bhavathy RangapathEr-vihAra kAlE

 

abhayaarthanayaa samabhupEtAn

avisamvAdhayatheeva manjunAdhai:

-- Naadha Paddhati SlOkam 10

 

(Meaning): Oh MaNi PaadhukE ! When Lord's walk commences in a sweet manner, You grant an assuring reply to those who came to seek refuge in terms such as " Refuge has been granted , No Fear".
