Guest guest
Dear Sriman Narayanan : Regarding your question on Pahala MantrAkshatai from Srimath Azhagiya Singars , it is a great BhAgyam to recieve it from the sacred hands of the MalOla dhivya PaadhukA sevakar , Srimath Azhagiya Singar. Raaja SanyAsis like Srimath Azhagiya Singar have unique power in their hands since they themselves are " NadamAdum Narasimhans " . One should recieve it in folded upper Veshti ( utthareeyam ) and with bent head after prostrating before Sriamth Azhagiya Singar and should make sure that the sacred akshatai does not fall on the floor . It should be kept in the Pooja gruham seperately in a container or with the SaalagrAma Moothys and dhwArakA silAs in the Koil AzhwAr . Uncooked rice grains ( Tandulam) are mixed with turmeric powder in a time honored and traditional manner followed by previous Azhagiya Singars and Sri Nrisimha BheejaKsharam is written over it to impart power and invoke the presence of Lord Narasimhan in those golden yellow gains . The golden yellow color is also indicative of PirAtti's presence since the AarAdhana Moorthy of Sri Matam is Malolan ( Sri Lakshmi Nrisimhan). The usage of these sacred mantraakshatais varies depending on family practises : (1) some carry few grains with them during their travel or while attending important events in their lives ( job interviews , major conference speeches etc). (2) some soak it in water, sprinkle that water over their heads (PrOkshaNam) and also partake it as sacred water to cleanse themselves , while invoking the vaibhavam of the AchAryan and MalOlan .Those akshathais are pavitra vasthus and can be added to Udaka Saanthi water to ennhance its power .This is a personal preference . (3) Using them as a bed for SaaLagramam has been mentioned before . (4) They are like shield ( Kavacham) to ward off dangers of every kind . I am sure there are so many other ways that the sishyAs use the Phala MantrAkshatais . Whenever one does a specific Kaimakryam like participation in ChAthrumAsya Vratam support , Srimath Azhagiya Singar sends the Phala Mantraakshatai to the sishya by mail , if he or she could not be there in person to recieve it . The ChAthurmAsyam observed by the two Azhagiya Singars will take place at the Bangalore Aasramam for 60 days starting from July 7 and concluding on Sep 4, 2009 this year . Those of us who have not firmed up on their plans are requested to take part in presenting their samarpaNams yathaa Sakti . Your samarpaNams can be sent directly to Sri Nrisimha Priyaa Office , Mylapore ( 30 VenkatEsa agrahaaram , Chennai 600 004 ) or can be sent via the Ahobila Matam web site ( http://www.ahobilamutt.org ) .. Your samarpaNams help to perform ThiruvArAdhanams for Malolan during Abhigamanam , Ijya ( mid day) and Evneing Paanaka AarAdhanam . Those funds are also used for the daily TadhiyArAdhanam and Bikshai for the Azhagiya Singars . Worship of One's AchAryans during the ChAthurmAsyam is a great bhAgyam and adiyEn would encourage your participation to make this year's ChAthrumAsyam a special One .Please contact adiyEn , if you wish to take part in thsi year's chAthurmAsyam .
