Greetings Everyone,

I am fortunate enough to be associated with " The Hindu Temple of Lake COunty " .

One of the shrines is for Lord Shri Venkateshwara. The Mulavar Moorthy has come

from Tirupathy.Recently the temple received Sri ChakrathAlwar / Yoga Narasimhar

Idol Utsava Moorthy PanchaLoka Idol.

 

Question. Please enlighten us on the procedures for pratistapana of the Utsav

moorthy.We got recomendation to perfrom this event on Chitra Natchitram ,The

event can be done by performing thirumanjanam of Sri ChakrathAlwar /Narasimhar

Idols , followed by a sudarshana homam.We would like to perform this event as

per sastras. Please pass on your comments.

Dear Sri Gaddam :

 

PrANa Pratishtai is more elaborate as sanctioned by the Aagamaas .

I do not know whehter the Temple follows VaikhAnasa Aagama ( as at

Thirumala)

or PaanchrAtra Aagmaa ( as at Srirangam , Kaanchipuram) . Depending on the

particular Aagama Followed , you would ahve to adopt the recommended

procedure specific to that Aagamaa Saastram .

 

A knowledgable priest from Sri Ranganatha Temple , Pomona , NY for instance

or Sri Venkateswara Temple , Pittsburgh or other DikshitAs from temples

nearby

have to come and conduct the specific set of Homams and ceremonies leading

upto the symbolic opening of the eyes of the Lord . The web site for the Sri
