[Vedic Wisdom] Mahalaya paksham/Pithru Paksham

Mahaalayapaksham is different from Sraardham which occurs once every year.and it is done for ones departed Parent.Mahaalapaksham is done for ones father as well as to all ancestors like Ammaavaashyaa, which occurs once every month.Mahaalayapaksha occurs once every year and culminates in Mahaalaya Ammaavaashya.The topic is Mahaalayapaksha and not Sraardha.It was said by the Aacharyas, if one visits Badrinath and Gaya the holy places of Parabrahman Naaraayana,(even Kashi is a holy place of Paramaatma VISHNU and there existed a LORD KRISHNA temple on the banks of Ganges in Kashi which was looted and destroyed by Mohmmad of Gazhni when he invaded India), one need not perform Sraadhdha for his parent if one is sick and instead one can invite a Brahmana home and give him Ammam because

in those olden days there were no Busses Cars, Planes etc people only can go by horses, bullockcarts and only by walk and have to trek the mountains to reach Badrinath.But, these days people go by Busses, cars, helicopters and there are roads tom travel to Badrinath and Aacharyas , especially, Prathivaadi Bhayankaram Annangraacharyar has who lived recently in 1980s has said one must perform Sraardham to his parent without skipping even once, since visiting Badrinath has become like visiting a touristspot.By the by Vedic Era has no beginning or end and we are still in the Vedic Era since Vedas always exist.Anantaahvaivedah meaning Vedas are endless, infinite, Apaurisheyam not created by anyone including the Parabrahman NAARAAYANA , Anaadi, meaning Vedas are Beginningless, Eternal and all these are declared by Vedas thbemselves. Only ignorant people claim the Timescale and divide them as Pre-Vedic era, Vedic Era, Epic Era, Puranic era

This is our belief and faith continuing from Vedic era.It is said in our shastra, by offering Pindas in the name of forefathers/ancestors at Holy Vishnupadam at Gaya and tarpan at the adjacent Falgu river, releases the soul of our ancestors and therafter one must visit another holy place, and Kasi , the abode of Lord Siva is nearest place to Gaya.It is told in our shastra that once souls of our ancestors are released by offering Pindas at Gaya, there is no need to repeat it annually.However, it is our Shradhdha and Bhakti to our ancestors, who have shown us this beautiful Earth, which also guide us to perform this ceremony every year . From 05.09.2009 Saturday to19.09.2009 is known as PITHRU PAKSHAM and 18.09.2009 is known as Mahalaya Amavasya. On all these days doing TILA THARPANAM plus on any one day offerinf PINDAM or HIRANYA SRARTHAM is considered a MUST. The souls of forefathers are allowed FREEDOM to come to EARTH to receive the offerings from their near and dear ones.Including the friends/ and pets at home which are not alive can be offered TIL WATER. In fact upto DIWALI AMAVASYA the souls have the freedom to come and accept if one fails to get any offerings by 19.09.2009.Message 6689 contains the pithru Mantras. Same thing applies now too.TRC
