Pavithrotsavam at Shri Jegathratchaga perumal temple, Thirukoodalur

Shri Jegathratchaga perumal temple at Thirukoodalur, Thanjavur District is one of the Holy shrines of 108 Divya deshams. This temple is a purana sthalam as well as a prarthana sthalam and is known as Sangama kshetram.

This temple is renowned for the reunition of seperated couples, (Pirnithavargal koodum Oor -Koodalur) and it is also a Vaishanava Kethu Parikara sthalam. Shri Vaishnavas who have a troubled time due to the Rahu transit on 27.10.2009 can have their problems nullified by performing an Archanai to the Lord Shri Vayyam Kaatha perumal.

There is a jackfruit tree behind the main sannadhi and there is a big conch (shanku) like formation on it. Those conch have formed naturally when it was being planned to cut down a portion of the tree for renovation purpose. The formation is preserved and covered with sacred turmeric for easy identification.

Annual Pavithrotsavam is to be performed on 13.11.2009 to 15.11.2009. Beloved Members of this group and Shri Vaishnavas across the globe are invited to the holy poojas.
