In the Hari-vamsha it is stated;

vede ramayane caiva purane bharate tatha adavante ca madhye ca harih sarvatrah giyate

“In all the Vedas, Ramayana, Puranas and Mahabharata, Lord Hari’s glories are sung throughout in the beginning, middle, and the end.â€

The Bhagavad-gita is one of the sections of the Bhishma Parva

of the Mahabharata, thus it is scripture. Scriptures are narrations

about the Supreme Lord or are words spoken by the Supreme Lord. Shrimad-Bhagavatam is a beautiful narration of the pastimes of the Supreme Lord and Bhagavad-gita is the song of the Supreme Lord Krishna. Both are non different from Him.

Gita-mahatmya is a conversation between Shiva and his consort Srimati Parvati. It is Lord Shiva's glorification of the Bhagavad-gita. Anyone who hears or studies this Gita-mahatmya

will quickly have all his accumulated sins destroyed. And one who

remembers this discourse with great faith will surely attain the

results of all pious acts and great sacrifices. After enjoying all

worldly opulences he will reach the abode of Lord Vishnu.

In this section the glories of Bhagavad-gita will be discussed in detail under the following topics:

Glories of 1 - 9 Chapters of Bhagavad-gitaGlories of 10 - 18 Chapters of Bhagavad-gitaScholars on the Bhagavad-gitaplease read in this below linkhttp://folknet.in/SS2008/html/index.php?option=com_content & view=article & id=55 & Itemid=64
