A special book release fucntion on the 72 MeLa Raaga Kritis on the dhivya

dampatis of ThiruviNNagara KshEtram will be released at Kasturi Hall before

an audience of Music Lovers at 5.30 PM . Please review the attachment for

the details of the Musical Program and the Kritis selected in different MeLa

raagams that will be sung by the sishyAsof the composer , Innisai Chelvi ,

VidhvAmsini Padma veerarAghavan . The composer is my sister.

 

As you know , composing kritis in 72 MeLa Raagams need detailed LakshaNa

Jn~Anam and composition by a Lady VidhvAn is happening for the first time .

Her sishyAs will render selected MeLa raaga Kritis on Oppiliappan before Sangeetha rasikAs and Sangeetha Kalaanidhis .

'Oppiliappan Malargal' Book Release - Nov 30th 2009; Programme Structure

 

Dear All,

 

Happy to inform you the schedule for the evening of Book release. This is the line-up finalised with my Guru Smt.Padma Veeraraghavan today.

 

Accompaniments confirmed so far are M Vijay(Violin), K Parthasarathy(Mridangam) and CS Venkatramanan(Kanjira) for First Half.Ganapathy Ram(Mridangam) for Second Half. Violinist for second half to be finalised soon as well.

 

# This plan is tentative. I think we would mostly go ahead with it (minor changes if necessary might be made).

 

Venue: Kasturi Srinivasan Hall (Music Academy Mini hall)

Time: 5:45 PM

 

Will keep posted all other details. All compositions except (Varanamukhava and Sindhubhairavi thillana) are of teacher and they feature in the book as well.
