adiyEn was at Swamy Desikan's sannidhi during last week and Dr. SatakOpa Tatachaar was there with me . He briefed me on the ongoing efforts to present an unusual AabaharaNam , Makara KaNdi to our most revered AchAryan during the upcoming anushtAna KuLa Utsavam , when Lord VaradarAjan with His Ubhaya NaacchiyArs and Acharya Raamanujaa come to visit Swamy Desikan at His avathAra stalam to shower their anugrahams .

 

The Noothana AabharaNam , Makof ara KaNdi, is a ruby necklace of unusual design , which is presented to a victor in a great contest , where such a victor defeats soundly all the contestants . It could be for a King , who vanquishes the mighty armies that oppose him . In the case of Swamy Desikan, He won over all Paramatha Vaadhins at Srirangam , Kaanchipuram and Thiruvaheendhrapuram and established the unassailability of AchArya Raamaanuja Darsanam throroughly grounded on Vedams and Upanishads . He composed more than 125 Sri Sooktis in three languages ( Sanskrit, Tamil and Praakrutam ). He blessed us with many StOtrams and Kaavyams . For all of these incomparable , priceless and immense Kula dhanams bequeathed by Swamy Desikan for posterity , any number of Makara KaNdis would not be sufficient to show our reverence Him .
