Considering that she was a woman he did not assume great anger. thathaH- then hanuman- Hanuman kroDhamoorchithaH- filled with anger, moorchitha means overpowered samvarthayaamaasa- clenched , folded, anguleeH- fingers vaama hasthasya- left hand abhijaghaana- hit enaam- her. manyamaanena- by him who considered sthree cha ithi- that she was a woman, athikroDhaH- too much anger na sveekrthaH – was not assumed. 41. saa thu thena prahaareNa vihvalaangiee niSaacharee papaatha sahasaa bhoomau vikrtaananadarshanaa That rakshasi fell on the floor immediately by that blow with shattered limbs and terrible face. saa thu raakshasee- That demoness papaatha- fell down sahasaa- at once bhoomou- on the floor vihvalaangee- with shattered limbs, vihvala means distressed or agitated vikrthaananadharSanaa- appearing with terrible face, vikrtha means vikaara, horrifible. thena prahaareNa- by that blow. 42. thathasthu hanumaan praajnaH thaam drshTvaa vinipaathithaam krpaam chakaara thejasvee manyamaanaH sthriyam thu thaam Seeing her falling down Hanuman, the wise and glorious, took pity on her considering that he was a woman. thathaH thu- then, hanumaan- Hanuman praajnaH- the wise thejasvee- the glorious dhrshtvaa- seeing thaam- her vinipaathitham- falling down krpaam chakaara- took pity on her , chakaara means did , here it should mean `took' regarding the context. manyamaanaH thaam- considering her sthriyam thu- as a woman. The particle `thu' like `hi' is added for emphasis. 43. thatho vai bhrSasamvighnaa lankaa gadhgadhaaksharam uvaacha agarvitham vaakyam hanoomantham plavangamam Then Lanka becoming very agitated spoke to Hanuman the monkey, in a faltered tone words without pride. thathaH- then lankaa- Lanka brSa samvighnaa- very much agitated uvaacha – spoke vaakyam – words, vaakya is a sentence but here it may mean words as a sentence is a string of words. agarvitham- without pride, being vanquished by Hanuman, gadhagdhaaksharam- in a faltering tone, gadhgadha is faltering, aksharam syllables, the syllables uttered by her were incoherent due to emotion, hanoomantham plavangamam- to the monkey, Hanuman.
