All,

Our poorveegam is Vellimedu Village about 10 kms from tindivanam on way to kanchipuram. Story goes that Sri Desikan Swamigal had visited Vellimedu and was instrumental in naming of this village as Vellimedu.

A providential visit to the village a few months ago caused us to come across the Sri Srinivasa perumal temple at Vellimedu in a broken down condition (photo attached). .Since then have connected with 10-12 families of Vellimedu Vankeepuram lineage/ Vellimedu village and together we have committed to rebuild the temple with the blessings of Sri Andavan Swamigal..The Bhoomi Pooja is scheduled on Sunday 25th April 2010

The temple is 300-400 years old and was a source of peace and solace for the village inhabitants and forefathers of Vellimedu poorveegam families. This mail is an effort to connect with more families of Vellimedu/Vankeepuram lineage who can join us in this effort. We would also be grateful to all others who are keen to contribue towards this effort.

Request to unicast me on vasudevan_65 , if you belong to or know someone belonging to Vellimedu/Vankipuram lineage.Pls provide your contact details to call up or connect with you.

Thanks

Vasu
