Dear SrIvaishNavAs,

 

Yesterday, 15.05.03, we celebrated the jayantI of srIman nrusimha perumAL in a

grand manner.

 

The celebrations started exactly at 3.30 pm with tirumanjanam to SrImath lakshmI

nrusimha mUrti and bhagavath sAligrAma mUrtis with snAnIyam milk, curd, honey,

tender-coconut, lemon, turmeric, madu-bhargam etc. with chanting of

taitthriyOpanishad and pancha sUktams. While tirumanjanam and garland-decoration

was going on, the sAma-gAna priyan was hearing to smt. Vijayalkshmi hari’s

melodious songs (periyAzhvAr pasurams set in rAga mAligai)

 

The alankAra priyan was very happy with the AbharaNa/ pushpa decoration done to

him.

 

Then taLigai samarpaNam and pAnaka ArAdhanam followed.

 

PAdukAarAdhanam of HH srImath azhagiya-singar and HH srImath paravAkkOTTai

ANDavan svAmi followed this.

 

Then we chanted SrI kAmAsikAshTakam, SrI sudarSaNAshTakam of swAmi SrImath

VEdAnta mahA dESika and some nityAnusandAna prabandams.

 

The first half celebrations ended with sARRumuRai by ghOshTi and mangaLam song

rendered by smt.Vijayalakshmi.

 

After " vayiRRukkum siRithu Eenthapin " , srI.U.vE.Hari’s upanyasam was " sevikku

uNavu " . The theme was " kavitArkika simhan and nrusimhan " . The Lord witnessing

the greatness of svAmi dESikan was hearing the upanyAsam with a smile of

acceptance. Around 9.00pm the celebrations ended with all hearts still immersed

in enjoying the kalyANa gunAs of the two simhams.
