VazhtthuppA 17 & 18 2. Abstract 17 malarinum mellidu * mAdavam seiyum * palarukkum ihdaridu paRRa – silaradan * sevvit talaipaDuvar seerSaTAri mAlkAmam * divviyamAm tEntamizhil teerppu. It is very difficult to understand bhagavat-kAmam of AzhvAr as it is very subtle and softer than flowers. Only those, who grasp the essence of our sampradAyam and SAstrams under the feet of a sadAchAyan can feel the heart of SaTAri – nammAzhvAr. 18 taNvakuLat tArAn * tamizhmaRai dESikan * vaNkurugUr ErengaL vAzhvAgum – eNguNamAl * paNNallAl illaiyOr paNSaTa kOpantAL * kaNNallAl illaiyOr kaN. NammAzhvAr declared that " kaNNan kaNNalladu illaiyOr kaNNE " . Similarly, following the way of madurakavi AzhvAr, other than nammAzhvAr and his prabhandam we don't seek any thing else. (madurakavi tOnRak kATTum tolvazhiyE nalvazhi). Abstract: AzhvAr's deep and subtle love on bhagavAn is expressed in the first poem while the second affirms that AzhvAr and his SrIsUkthis are the purpose of our life. (malar in the first poem and taNvakuLam in the second are used to bring out the fragrance of AzhvAr's pAsurams) The vAzhttu poems will end with the next posting and the main prabhandam will start on the tirunakshatra-day of AzhvAr. [saTAri Satakam is one of the many classic works of srI. U.vE. M.S.Hari. The vyAkyanam was done by him in maNipravALa naDai. aDiyEn requests you to kindly bear with me on unintentional typos and translation errors.] aDiyEn Mukundan rAmAnuja dAsan
