vAkkAl tirutti * varuttum pavattiDarai *

nOkkAl aRuttumaRai nutpamelam – ookkamuDan *

bundiyil tAnE puguttiDuvAr namSaTAri *

chintiru muttiraiyai seidu.

 

Recall the ChinmudrA prabhAvam of AzhvAr mentioned in the

vAzhttuppAs. With his ChinmudrA itself, AzhvAr imparts all the

benefits obtained by his following anugrahams:

- His vAkku (tamizhmaRai) purifies our mind

- His nOkku (aruTpArvai) destroys all our sufferings

- Even without our effort, AzhvAr effortlessly drives the essence of

vEdAs into our mind.

seidiTTAr yArkkum ariya seyalonRai *

kaidavap poimatattai kAindazhittu – meittava *

vEda vyAsAdi veeRuDaiyOr tAmviyakka *

bodittAr vEdap poruL.

 

Recall tiruvaLLuvar's kuraL " solludal yArkkum eLiya ariyavAm.. " The

impossible-for-anybody was made possible by nammAzhvAr. The

upanishads just show the way-out only. AzhvAr did thorough test on

them with his anushTAnam and gave us the essence of them. With this,

two things have been achieved at the same time:

- The false and baseless religions were driven out to their end.

- Even Rshis were overwhelmed on this work of AzhvAr, as it bears the

tiru-uLLam of sadAchAryAs like vEda-vyAsar, bOdAyanar, brahma nandi

and dramiDAchAryar.

 

Pearls:

* AzhvAr effortlessly drives the true knowledge to the aspirant's

heart without any obstruction.

* At the same time, he drives the baseless matams to their very

destruction.
