The SrIsUktis of nammAzhvAr has the following charesteristics:

-It is the essence of vEdAs, similar to the nectar got from milky

ocean.

-It cures the illness called samsAram.

-It essentially shows that Atma samarpaNam is the only way to escape

from the criminal act of stealing AtmA, which belongs to Him only.

Had we not been blessed by AzhvAr, we would have got the following:

-Adulterated and distorted form of Sruti.

-The highly uncurable and chronic illness of samsAram.

-Living with Other's belonging (Atma chOrAparAdam) and go deeper and

deeper into this troublesome ocean.

 

Pearls from the poems:

One side we have the nectar like Oushadam and the otherside only

diseases. With AzhvAr's kindness, we have aquired the knowledge of

choosing the best side.
